CONSTRUCTIONS, TREES and PREVENTION of DAMAGE

Have you ever admired some beautiful trees at a construction site? And when you came back four years later, most were either gone or damaged. And it could have been avoided if they had called a tree care professional, a modern arborist, someone who knows about SYMPLAST and associate structures.

To save the trees is to avoid the ominous trend of over-constructing and see the cycle of life go back to square one when only microscopic organisms existed. The good news is that the cost of removing a tree is more than the cost of saving it. Many Arboretums and Universities are teaching the "how-to", e.g. in our own neighborhood the MORRIS ARBORETUM.

A modern arborist will tell you how to avoid the disruption of the living soil by setting up protection standards. Keep away "Dr. Cure-All" with all his wonder chemicals which really only disrupt the living soil with its native microorganisms.

The modern arborist will also tell you that often a synthetic nitrogen fertilizer will reduce rather than increase the food or energy supply of the tree. It is not a home remedy like chicken soup. It actually stimulates undesired new growth which requires additional food which nitrogen is not. Thus it causes the depletion of the trees energy reserves needed for defense against pest and fungi. Construction without protection brings forth the DEMONS of D, i.e. depletion, dysfunction, disruption and death.

To watch some contractors spray pesticides shows a disregard for their clients' children and pets. Which shows how much work still needs to be done to make them respect not only their clients' health but also their pocketbooks. Amongst their responsibilities should be the issuance of warranties, representation of trees on blue prints etc.
